EGYPTIAN ADVENTURES
your World Schooling Hub in Luxor

The Owner Trio

Together we discuss all aspects of the hub and make decisions together. We chose the hub team, decide about the menu, the program and the excursions. Each one of us has one vote and together we have decided to pay equal living wages to every member of the team. Even though there are different responsibilities at the hub, no one could do without the other and so we have no hierarchy in place. From the owners to the cleaning person, cook and teachers, we are all equally important and we all get the same salaries. A novelty in Egypt.
We are supported by our local families and are preparing every detail with great care. It is our declared goal to give the children and their families a wonderful time in Luxor.
You will FIND.YOUR.TRIBE.

Our Story

We are the owners of the Egyptian Adventure World Schooling Hub in Luxor Westbank.
Our story began long before there were formal hubs, when Karima was 1 year old and Liana had just entered Egypt for the first time. Sayed was born the same year in the same village as Karima and later, Liana's own children would be playing in the street with both Karima and Sayed. But that’s another story altogether :-).

It’s January 2024 and Liana had just decided to make the move and spend her future years in Luxor permanently a couple of months before. She is of Swiss origin, her two children grown and standing on their own two feet, she felt it's time to make a change. It so happened that she met a worldschooling family and during conversation with them fireworks went off in her head; she immediately knew that this is the opportunity she has be waiting for and that THIS is what she wanted to do. She will run the World Schooling Hub in Luxor starting October 2024. Liana is a traveler at heart, has always traveled to exotic places with her kids like Mongolia, Somaliland and the likes. She has a great passion for community building, loves intercultural communication and events and has always been interested in the people and their culture in all of her travels. History, nature and the people - all that experience and passion will now go into the hub. And Luxor really is a perfect spot for this - it’s practically an open-air museum with a million things to do and see and with people who are warm and welcoming.

Of course she could not do this alone, she would need the support of her Egyptian family and above all, she wanted to do this for and with Karima. The 25 year old young woman was about to get married and as culture and tradition wants it, would not be able to work outside of the house she will keep with her new husband. This would give her that chance she craved so much; she could work and participate in life outside of the narrow confines of her husband’s family home. All her life, Karima has been exposed to tourism and to travelers from all over the world lodging at her own family's house. Her father was one of the greatest travelers and storytellers in town. She loves to show her guests all that her culture has to offer and she is looking forward to cater to all the family's needs. She understands western culture and will bridge beautifully between that and her own.

Once Karima and her family were on board, the future husband hat to be informed :-).
Sayed is a young village boy grown into a handsome young village man. Despite his traditional upcoming he has an open mind and wants to learn new things. He’s a calm and level headed young man with a college degree in financial accounting. When the two ladies approached him with the idea of the hub and explained to him what this was all about, it did not take him long to decide that he too will be in for the ride. Him and Karima were scheduled to get married in May 2024 and they will work side by side at the hub and with the families and their children. This will allow them to be independent and learn new things every day. They both speak English well and together, the trio and the entire hub team will give all their hearts to make the world schooling hub in Luxor a wonderful experience for the children and their families.
